The Wright County Regional Inspection Program began in 2017 as a cooperative project between Wright County, The DNR, the GLSA, Lake John Association, Pleasant Lake Association and the Initiative Foundation. In 2018 the Lake Associations for Cedar, Sugar, Granite, Maple, Bass and Moses joined the project. The project raised over 1.2 million in funding through a grant of $623,000 from the Initiative Foundation and an equal amount matching contributions by the City of Annandale, the 9 Lake Associations, Wright County Soil and Water and thousands of hours of donated time.
In 2019, the DNR denied our application to operate and we ceased operation.
This project represented a remarkable effort of citizens working with local and State Government groups to promote innovation in fighting Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS).
Our 2018 summary report, 2019 plan and final project report are included here in the hopes that our efforts will promote further discussion and innovative solutions.
Our deepest thanks go out to the volunteers and partners that allowed us to accomplish so much.
